Sarah Carney

Though I wear many hats, I consider myself primarily a storyteller. My undergraduate studies in anthropology taught me that stories have the power to move us and help us make sense of the world. I find that through design and use, objects tell stories as well. It is this fascination with the storytelling power of objects that fuels my art. Whether it be graphic design, set decoration, stickers, collage, or paintings of rubber duckies and Pez dispensers, the question I keep in mind when designing is "what meaning will this object add to the story I am trying to tell?"

I have been making movies since I was a child. From iMovie to Final Cut Pro to Premiere, I made silly videos with friends, informative videos for school, and took on a few amateur editing projects. I write comedy sketches and currently am focusing on the storyboard process and Sketchup modeling while I find my footing in the film industry.

I dream of one day becoming a production designer for film and TV. To help sell the magic and wonder of those stories would mean so much to me.
